I’m pretty much sure this is among the reason why black race suffers the most racism related hatred of all the races in the world. This is way of promoting black race inferiority and other races superiority. I’m putting this as racial profile because there’s no single African country, inhabited by black people as majority for that matter has risen to have admired so much as a dream country, like Arab countries from Gulf, European countries from Europe, Asian countries mostly Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, China etc and Americas, mostly north and some few South American countries.
Nigeria is the largest oil and gas producer in Africa. Nigeria’s proven oil reserves are estimated by the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA) at between 16 and 22 billion barrels and other sources claim that this could be much as 35.3 billion barrels. This put Nigeria the tenth most petroleum-rich nation, and most affluent in Africa.
In mid-2001, it’s crude oil production was averaging around 2.5 million barrels per day. Today, this number is higher, close to 4 million barrels.
A part from oil, Nigeria is rich in other minerals such as Talc, Gypsum, Iron ore, Lead/zinc, Bentonite, Baryte, Gold, Bitumen (which is almost twice the amount of existing reserves of crude petroleum, it’s ironic that Nigeria imports most bitumen used for road construction), Coal (most demanded in the world), Rock salts, Gemstones and Kaolin (among the world’s best).
Additionally, Nigeria is blessed with agriculture potential, in fact Africa’s agriculture powerhouse. In February 2017, Nigeria’s then Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo while speaking at the National Institute for Policy and Strategy Studies (NIPSS), stated that Nigeria has about 84 million hectares of arable land, of which only less than 40% has been cultivated.
Nigeria, believe it or not, was a global agricultural player, where Nigeria was the largest producer of groundnuts and palm oil in the 1960s, and the second largest exporter of cocoa. The country was also self-sufficient in food production before the emergence of oil in the 1960s.
Like any other African country, poverty remains most significant in this Africa’s biggest economy. Almost half of the population is living below poverty line, unemployment keep skyrocketing each year. Poverty is mostly caused by bad governance, political instability, corruptions among others. In 2018, this country overtook India as world’s poverty capital.
Qatar Produces 1.99 million barrels per day of oil as of 2016, ranking it 14th in the world.
Qatar ranks as the most-water stressed in the world. Being one of the hottest, most arid countries in the world, over 90% of it’s food supply is imported.
Unlike Nigeria, this country doesn’t have much more other minerals apart from oil, instead this country has invested on industries that manufactures whatever Nigeria produces as raw materials.
The economy of Qatar is one of the richest in the world based on GDP per capita, ranking between fifth and seventh on world rankings.
In Qatar there is 0% population below poverty line. Unemployment rate is below 1 percent.
