In a tiny village hood there lived a poor man named Thunder and he hated injustice. All the days of his life he worked so tirelessly yet he earned so little to the point that to suffice his needs he had to go to the road new the palace to beg for alms.
As he looked up to the sky as if sourcing for a donation, one rich man named Margot passed by and asked him what was the source of his poverty.
The poor man after a deep thought looked down and asked the rich man,how did you get rich?
Marveled by the question the rich man started murmuring repeatedly and soon he looked as if out of balance.
The poor man told him : I have worked so hard for my poverty, each day before the first bird wakes up I go to labour in the mines so that I get food for my family and meet my needs but at the end of the day they pay me three pounds which is not enough to feed my family thus I have to live on begging to survive.
In my life I have valued justice and hate lies as they are the worst enemies of mankind.
Just a few years ago you walked in tatters but how comes you got rich overnight?
I would like to know how you made your first million so that I can save myself from this dishonorable life on the streets.
The rich man said:
I started selling drugs and within just one month I made three million pounds.
The poor man reprimanded the rich man for doing business which ruined millions of people’s lives and asked him to stop it but he didn’t listen.
One day the King approached the poor man and asked him why was he so poor?
He sunk into deep thoughts and for three minutes he uttered nothing then finally spoke as if his words were sandwiched with tears.
I am poor because I work so tirelessly in the mines but I am never paid just returns by my master thus am inclined to beg to get enough food for my family.
The king moved by this decided to employ the poor man to work in his palace as a messenger and paid him a thousand times more.
The poor man was so overjoyed and the next day he called all his friends and neighbours to celebrate being delivered from poverty.
One of those who attended was the rich man and the king was among those who attend the party.
After hearing that the king will attend ,so many rich people and the poor alike thronged the event.
The poor man invited the lepers and the poor to seat in the front seats with the king while the rich people sat in the back seats while some having missed the seats ended up seating down on nearby grass fields.
The King was delighted to see how wise the poor man was and decided to find out the source of the wealth of the rich people who had attended at the same time asked all the poor people who had attended to write down their source of their poverty.
While going through the messages from the poor people he realized that none of the poor people failed to justify the cause of their poverty so he went ahead to read about what made the rich people so wealthy.
Many of the rich people bragged how hardworking they were and how each day their companies made billions.
The king asked them what percentage of their profits do they use to pay the workers and they said 2%.
When it came to Margot’s turn to explain the source of his wealth,he started shivering before the king making him very angry and he ordered his guards to go and search the rich mans house.
Sooner after the guards returned carrying heavy loads of drugs they seized from the rich mans house and told the king;
here comes the source of his wealth.
Upon realizing that Margot had profited from illegal trade ordered the guards to lock him up in a dungeon where lions lived.
The party was over and as the king returned to his place there was a voice from the background.
Simon the leper stood up though he was so short such that even standing he appeared to be seated.
Moving close to the podium he fell at the feet of the king and said Your Majesty ,My lord I have a question which has been disturbing my mind for so long.
I have seen how hardworking bees they are,how organized they are and how they march fearlessly like an army ever ready to attack.
Through the bees I have learnt that nothing can be achieved without being courageous, tedious and timely.
The bees toil so hard to make the honey but we take it all is that not stealing asked one wise man…………………….
